According to OSHA, a person competent enough to work on a scaffold should: Be able to identify all potential and existing hazards in the vicinity. Be capable of pointing out bad working conditions, including unsanitary situations. Have the authority to take corrective and preventive measured for the same. Be assessed by a compliance officer for his training, experience, and qualification. Have the authority to allow modification of the components. Be responsible for the erection, transportation, dismantling and modification of scaffolds. Modern day construction biz cannot do without scaffolds. But you have to well-versed about the structure as well. Like they say, ‘only the known is safe; the rest is vulnerability.’
